Cellular Therapy Facilities

AABB conducts assessments every two years of institutional member facilities that procure, process, store and/or distribute cellular therapy products to ensure they meet the association’s voluntary standards.

This section includes lists of hematopoietic progenitor cell, umbilical cord blood stem cell, somatic cell product and clinical services facilities in the U.S. and worldwide that have earned AABB accreditation. Note: this list is provided as a courtesy to the public and subject to change at any time. An official notice of AABB Accreditation may be provided by the facility upon request.

AABB Cord Blood (CB) activities includes educational programs, publications and accreditation for CB programs. The list of AABB Accredited Cord Blood (CB) Facilities specifies those cord blood banks, in the US and throughout the world, which have attained AABB accreditation. These facilities are responsible for procuring, processing and storing umbilical cord blood stem cells that can be used for transplantation.

AABB Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell (HPC) activities include educational programs, publications and accreditation for HPC programs.

The list of AABB Accredited HPC Facilities specifies those HPC facilities, in the US and throughout the world, which have attained AABB accreditation. These facilities are responsible for procuring, processing and storing hematopoietic progenitor cells that can be used for transplantation.

Somatic cell product services are facilities that perform one or more of the manufacturing steps for somatic cell products, including procurement, processing, and storage, and/or distribution of these products. (This list is for somatic cells other than HPC or cord blood.)

The list of AABB Accredited Somatic Cell Facilities specifies those facilities that have attained AABB accreditation for somatic cells other than HPCs or cord blood.

The tasks performed by integrated patient care teams linked by a uniform quality management system and reflected in the organizational structure. The clinical facility is responsible for the administration of the product and all related patient care activities.

This list of AABB Accredited Clinical Services identifies those facilities that have had an onsite assessment and meet or exceed AABB Standards for Cellular Therapy Services.


Accredited - An AABB assessor has been on the facility's premises and the facility practices were found to conform to AABB standards of practice.
