BUNDLE: Circular of Information for the Use of Human Blood and Blood Components – Print and USB

Prepared by AABB, American Red Cross, America’s Blood Centers, and the Armed Services Blood Program, this Circular is an extension of the container label and recognized as acceptable by the FDA. The FDA has detailed how the Circular in brochure format is to be used as well as the conditions under which the Circular on USB drive can be used. This important information is located on the Circular page of this website. This bundle contains three sets (150 copies) of brochures and one USB.

The Circular describes available components, actions, indications, contraindications, dosage and administration, side effects and hazards. Included is a comprehensive but concise table summarizing indications, benefits, and precautions for blood. The Circular also provides several blank pages where facilities should stamp or adhere updated language required by the FDA.

• FDA-licensed test for malaria.
• Signs and symptoms of TACO.
• Collection and processing of Leukocyte Reduced Red Blood Cells in an oxygen/carbon dioxide-reduced environment.
• Donor ingestion of drugs and preservation of platelet function in Whole Blood for transfusion.
• Proteins (albumin, ADAMTS13, and Factors II, V, VII, X, and XI) in Plasma Cryoprecipitate Reduced remain at levels similar to the plasma product used to prepare the cryoprecipitate.
