Program Description: Clinical medicine is rife with ethical issues. Even though the laboratory is largely removed from direct patient-facing care, ethical issues commonly arise. Having a framework for identifying, analyzing, and resolving ethical dilemmas is key to ensuring excellent patient care and a safe environment for laboratory staff. Using case scenarios, this program will introduce two moral method frameworks to assist with analyzing and resolving ethical dilemmas in transfusion medicine.
