World Blood Donor Day 2024

VIRTUAL 5K / 1-MILE RACE

May 14 - June 14

Join us in raising awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and thanking all those who make life-saving gifts of blood!

In honor of World Blood Donor Day, the AABB Foundation invites you to run, walk, roll or pedal your way to the finish line of our virtual 5K or 1-mile race with us anytime between May 14 and June 14. All proceeds benefit AABB Foundation-funded scientific research to help advance treatments and care for patients and donors in communities worldwide.

As a race participant, you'll show your personal appreciation for blood donors who are saving lives, bring awareness to the vital act of giving blood, and raise critical support for AABB Foundation-funded research in blood and biotherapies.

How to Complete Your Virtual Race

1. Sign up to register as an individual or as part of a team.
2. Ask your friends, family, and co-workers to support you by joining your team or giving a contribution.
3. Run, walk, roll or pedal any 5K or 1-mile route between May 14 and June 14, 2024. You can even listen to a custom playlist created by race participants.
4. Show your race pride in stride and post your photos, videos, and share on AABB’s Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and Instagram. You can also take pictures and email them to us.
5. Celebrate your accomplishment by submitting your time to receive your finisher certificate.
