CBC/CTS Changes Name to Solvita Blood Center

September 06, 2023

Ohio-based Community Blood Center (CBC) and Community Tissue Services (CTS) is now known as Solvita Blood Center, CEO Christopher Graham announced at a kickoff celebration on Sept. 1.

The unveiling event featured testimonials from individuals like Theo Hale, a blood donor, and retired police officer Jason Schechterle, a blood and tissue recipient who serves on the Solvita Board of Directors. The Solvita ceremony also coincided with the kickoff of Solvita’s Labor Day blood drive. Donors arriving for morning appointments were the first to learn the new name and to make their first Solvita donations.

Solvita was founded as CBC in 1964 and now serves 18 counties in western Ohio and eastern Indiana. CTS was established in 1986 as the Dayton Regional Tissue Bank and now operates facilities in Idaho, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas.
