Tanzania Declares End to Marburg Virus Outbreak

Tanzania has officially declared an end to its Marburg virus (MBOV) outbreak as of March 13, following 42 days with no new cases since the last confirmed patient death on Jan. 28. The outbreak resulted in two confirmed and eight probable cases, all of whom died. This was Tanzania’s second outbreak, both occurring in the north-eastern Kagera region.
