Learning Objectives
The education sessions at the 2024 Annual Meeting are designed to provide insights and solutions for physicians and other health care professionals who practice in transfusion medicine and biotherapies, and to help them maintain and enhance their knowledge, skills and abilities.

By actively participating in the continuing education programming at the 2024 AABB Annual Meeting, physicians and other health care professionals should be able to:

  • Disseminate the latest developments in laboratory, clinical, and administrative practices in the fields of blood and biotherapies.
  • Foster conversations with colleagues to stimulate scientific research, enhance clinical practice and improve quality management to improve donor and patient safety in transfusion medicine and biotherapies.
  • Evaluate state of the art innovations in transfusion medicine and biotherapies.

Financial Support
There is no commercial support associated with this educational activity.

Target Audience
Physicians, nurses, scientists, researchers, administrators, medical technologists, and other health care providers.

Claiming CE/CME Credit

In order to claim CE or CME credit, participants will need to complete an evaluation for the overall activity (full meeting) and for each session that they attend or watch and for which they would like to claim credit. Evaluations will be available until November 21, 2024 at 2pm ET. After the posted deadline, evaluations will close and participants will not be able to claim CE/CME credit.

Attendees will have access to evaluations and the ability to claim credit through the online Annual Meeting website. Instructions and access/login information will be provided by email.

Please note: Completion of only one session evaluation per concurrent session block is permitted. For example, if there are eight sessions offered in the same timeslot, you will only be able to complete an evaluation for one of them. To earn CE/CME credit for the other sessions in the same timeslot viewed as on-demand, complete the on-demand session evaluation (all will end with “-O”). Daily registrants will only have access to the session evaluations for the day(s) they are registered.

AABB recommends completing evaluations after each session while the content is fresh in your mind. We value your feedback and will use it for future programming.

Access to complete evaluations will close at 2pm Eastern Time, November 21, 2024. After this date/time, you will not be able to claim credit for any sessions you attended/watched.

Steps to Complete Evaluations

Once logged in, simply scroll through the complete listing of evaluations to find the evaluation for the session(s) you attended. Please select the suffix “-L” in the session number if you attended the session live, in person and “-O” if you watched the session recording online.

You must complete at least one session evaluation before you can complete the overall meeting evaluation. Completion of the overall meeting evaluation is required to generate your transcript/certificate of attendance. The overall meeting evaluation is found at the top of the session evaluation listing.

Credit amounts and types for each session are provided on each session evaluation. Credit types provided include Continuing Education for Physicians (PHY), California Lab Personnel (CLP), Florida Lab Personnel (FLP), California Nurse (CN) and General Continuing Education participation (GEN) credit.

If you experience any issues or cannot access the evaluations, please contact us via email at professionaldevelopment@aabb.org.
