Stanford Blood Center
Harpreet Sandhu is the chief executive officer of Stanford Blood Center (SBC), where she has worked since 2007. SBC’s core responsibilities include supporting local transfusion medicine programs through blood operations and donor testing, providing transplantation-related clinical testing through its molecular and serology HLA laboratories, and supporting the research community through access to human cellular components and testing services.
Sandhu is a board-certified clinical laboratory scientist, with specialties in transfusion and transplantation medicine, and with decades of professional experience in progressive managerial and leadership roles. Originally from Vancouver, Sandhu completed her undergraduate studies and training in Canada, and holds a master of science degree and master of business administration degree.
Sandhu currently serves as president of the California Blood Bank Society and is the immediate past chair of the board for Blood Centers of America. She also serves on the boards of the National Blood Collaborative, National Blood Testing Cooperative, Blood Centers of California, and the National Marrow Donor Program Collection and Auxiliary Services.
