Join us for a 60-minute mini-symposium which will review key concepts in blood stewardship and optimized bleeding management.
With the advent of cartridge-based whole blood viscoelastic testing (VET) systems, limitations from legacy VET technologies, and challenges of conventional laboratory coagulation tests for acute bleeding management have been overcome. During this program, you will learn how an optimized VET platform can help providers deliver timely hemostasis, while conserving blood, reducing costs, and improving outcomes in critical bleeding situations. In addition, faculty will highlight the transition from empirical decision making in bleeding situations to a Goal-Directed Therapeutic (GDT) approach. This includes presenting guidelines and data that demonstrate improvements in clinical outcomes, costs, and healthcare efficiencies achieved through the functional implementation of a viscoelastic-guided technique.
The program will outline a practical, multi-disciplinary approach to evaluating and updating bleeding management practices, with an emphasis on implementation of advanced processes and technologies. Real-world applications of biotherapeutic and blood component decision-making using viscoelastic testing (e.g., Quantra®, ROTEM®, TEG®), illustrating the efficient use of and avoidance of unnecessary therapies will be shared. This program is an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in optimizing care for bleeding patients.
A live Q&A session will follow to address questions and provide further insights.
