Nicole Verdun Named Permanent Director of CBER’s Office of Therapeutic Products

Nicole Verdun, MD, has been named the permanent director of FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research Office of Therapeutic Products, according to a recent announcement from FDA. Verdun’s new title and position are effective as of July 30, 2023.

Verdun has been a leader in the blood community for many years, most recently serving as director of FDA’s Office of Blood Research and Review (OBRR). Anne Eder, MD, deputy director of OBRR, will now serve as the office’s acting director while a search is conducted for a permanent director.
