BCNW Joins the Community Blood Center

November 07, 2023

The Community Blood Center (CBC) and the Blood Center of Northcentral Wisconsin (BCNW) announced recently that the two organizations have integrated as of Oct. 9. As part of the integration, BCNW will adopt The Community Blood Center name, as well as CBC’s mission, vision and values. Through the integration, CBC and BCNW aim to streamline their processes and improve the donor experience throughout CBC’s Midwest footprint.

“The integration of CBC and BCNW allows us to leverage the best of each organization to grow the blood supply for our local hospital partners and their patients,” said Emily Jolin, president and chief executive officer, Blood Center of Northcentral Wisconsin.

BCNW, located in Wausau, opened in 1952 as the Marathon County Blood Bank. The center was renamed Blood Center of Northcentral Wisconsin when it moved to its current location in 2003.  Appleton-based CBC was established in 1955 and operates permanent donor centers in Wisconsin and Illinois.
