Support Early-Career Investigators Through AABB Foundation’s Run for Research, Sleep-In for Research

September 09, 2024

Members of the blood and biotherapies community can support early-career investigators by participating in the AABB Foundation’s Run for Research or Sleep-In for Research, both of which will take place during the 2024 Annual Meeting. Registration proceeds from these events support the AABB Foundation mission of fueling innovative research with initiatives like the AABB Foundation’s Early-Career Scientific Research Grants Program, which has funded practice-changing research projects from more than 200 investigators since its founding in 1983.

Run for Research

This year, registrants for the AABB Foundation Run for Research can participate either during the AABB Annual Meeting in Houston or virtually.

In-person participants will complete their 5K run or 1-mile walk at a designated course in downtown Houston with friends and colleagues on Sunday, Oct. 20. In-person runners will also receive a complimentary grab-and-go breakfast after the event. Those interested in participating may add this event during their Annual Meeting registration. Registration is $70 and includes a commemorative T-shirt.

Virtual participants will complete a 5K run or 1-mile walk at any time during the Annual Meeting (Oct. 19-22). Registration costs $50 and includes a commemorative T-shirt.

The AABB Foundation encourages all participants – both in-person and virtual – to document their run by sharing photos and videos using the #AABB24 hashtag on social media.

Sleep In for Research

Those interested in supporting the AABB Foundation from the comfort of their beds can register for the Sleep-In for Research. Registration costs $30 and includes a commemorative T-shirt. Meeting attendees can add this event to their Annual Meeting registration.

AABB and AABB Foundation would like to thank this year’s sponsors – Abbott, Fresenius Kabi and Johnson & Johnson – for their support of the Run for Research.
