AABB is pleased to announce a new collaboration with the Asociación Mexicana de Medicina Transfusional AC (AMMTAC) through a recently signed memorandum of understanding (MoU). This partnership, moderated by AABB Directors Jose Cancelas, MD, PhD, CABP, and Celina Montemayor-Garcia, MD, PhD, aims to strengthen global efforts in advancing blood transfusion medicine and biotherapies by leveraging the expertise and resources of both organizations.
The MoU outlines a shared commitment to promoting best practices in transfusion medicine and biotherapies, with an emphasis on enhancing patient safety and care. As part of this partnership, AABB and AMMTAC will collaborate on a variety of initiatives, including international outreach efforts and opportunities for joint conferences and educational programming.
Current AMMTAC President Maria Isabel Castro Pérez, MC, and incoming AMMTAC President, Roberto Enrique Jaloma Avendaño, QFB, both signed the MOU, which will last for three years.
During this time, AABB and AMMTAC will work together to pursue mutually agreed-upon goals and provide valuable resources to their members.
The organizations also plan to support the global advancement of transfusion medicine by promoting resources like the AABB Quality Certificate Program, which aims to advance transfusion medicine at international facilities out
