Peter Castagna will retire as CEO of Pennsylvania-based Miller-Keystone Blood Center (MKBC) and Hospital Central Services, Inc., the organization’s board of directors announced Monday. Castagna has led the organization for the past 11 years, expanding operations into Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and launching an ambulatory care outpatient linen rental business.
Rami Nemeh, MKBC’s vice president and chief operating officer, will succeed Castagna as CEO. Nemeh emigrated to the United States 26 years ago and joined MKBC as a component lab technician. He continued to advance in the lab, eventually being named as director overseeing the entire lab operation.
