Trump to Nominate Oz to Serve as CMS Administrator

President-elect Donald Trump announced his plans to nominate Mehmet Oz, MD, MBA, to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Oz is a physician, professor emeritus of cardiothoracic surgery at Columbia University, and former political candidate known for hosting the daytime talk show “The Dr. Oz Show” from 2009 to 2022. If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Oz will oversee Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program and the HealthCare.gov health insurance marketplace.
