CDC Seeking Nominees for Appointment to CLIAC

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is seeking nominations for membership on the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Advisory Committee (CLIAC). CLIAC members provide scientific and technical advice and guidance related to improvement in clinical laboratory quality and laboratory medicine to leadership at offices and agencies within HHS. CLIAC also provides guidance on specific questions related to possible revision of the CLIA standards.

The agency will select nominees from the fields of medical technology, public health, clinical practice, as well as consumer representatives, based on expertise in the fields of microbiology, immunology, chemistry, hematology, pathology or genetic testing. Members may be invited to serve up to four-year terms. Both individuals and organizations may submit nominations. Nomination instructions are available in a Dec. 17 Federal Register notice. The deadline to submit nominations is July 1, 2025.
