WHO Certifies Georgia as Malaria-Free

The World Health Organization (WHO) officially certified Georgia, a country in the Caucasus region, as malaria-free following a century-long eradication campaign. WHO grants malaria-free certification when a country has proven that the chain of indigenous transmission has been interrupted nationwide for at least the previous three consecutive years.
