Feedback to Shape IRL, BB/TS Standards Due Feb. 20

AABB encourages members to provide input to shape the draft 35th edition of Standards for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services (BB/TS Standards) and the draft 14th edition of Standards for Immunohematology Reference Laboratories (IRL Standards) before the Feb. 20 deadline.

The BB/TS Standards Committee and IRL Standards Committee encourage commenters to provide alternative wording if they think it would improve the clarity of a standard. The committees also request that commenters identify the current standard by its number at the beginning of their comments, especially if commenting on more than one standard. Finally, those who agree or disagree strongly with a current standard should state a reason or submit data to support their viewpoint.

Those without access to the current editions — BB/TS Standards (34th edition) or IRL Standards (13th edition) — can request two-week trial access via standards@aabb.org. AABB will also hold a 60-day open comment period following the release of the proposed editions in April.
