Kennedy Confirmed and Sworn in as HHS Secretary

The U.S. Senate
confirmed Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Feb. 13 on a 52-48 vote. He was sworn in the following day.
Kennedy, a former presidential candidate, environmentalist, and anti-vaccine activist will oversee the nation’s public health programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, as well as federal agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
