Trump Withdraws Nominee for CDC Director

The Trump administration
withdrew the nomination of former Rep. Dave Weldon (R – Fla.) to serve as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on March 13. The White House withdrew the nomination just hours before Weldon was scheduled to testify at his confirmation hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Weldon had received criticism from public health experts for his controversial view that vaccines cause autism.
