AHA, Health-ISAC Warn of Potential Security Threat to Hospitals

March 26, 2025

The American Hospital Association (AHA) and Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Health-ISAC) issued a joint threat bulletin last week alerting hospitals to a social media post referencing an active plan for a coordinated, multi-city terrorist attack on hospitals.

The credibility of the threat remains unverified. However, out of an abundance of caution, the organizations urged health care facilities to review emergency management plans and reinforce security measures. The bulletin also encouraged facility staff to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.

AHA and Health-ISAC are working closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and will provide updates as more information becomes available. The AABB Disaster Task Force is aware of the situation and will provide updates to the blood and biotherapies community as they are available.
