NIST to Host Workshop on Rapid Microbial Testing Methods for Advanced Therapies Community

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will hold its
fifth annual workshop on rapid microbial testing methods (RMTMs) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 8. This half-day virtual event will highlight recent advances in rapid sterility testing for advanced therapy products and provide updates on the NIST-led
RMTM Consortium.
The workshop agenda includes presentations from consortium working groups on key topics, such as the development of microbial reference materials, findings from interlaboratory studies on microbial contaminant detection and the use of next-generation sequencing in rapid sterility testing. The event will also feature a session on recent technological advances in the field.
