The Federal Bureau of Investigation has determined that there is no specific credible threat targeting hospitals in any U.S. city, according to an
update from the American Hospital Association and Health-ISAC. The FBI also stated that if it receives credible threat information, it will immediately notify any identified potential targets and alert the broader health care sector when appropriate.
The FBI advisory follows an extensive investigation into reports of a public social media post alleging plans for a coordinated, multi-city terrorist attack targeting hospitals. Out of an abundance of caution, AHA and Health-ISAC
alerted the health care field last week and encouraged facilities to review their emergency management plans.
