AABB uses the standards described in Standards for Immunohematology Reference Laboratories as a basis for accrediting laboratories for advanced serology testing and reference lab services equipped for performing advanced investigational procedures pertaining to immunohematologic studies.
Immunohematology Reference Laboratories provide an exchange of information and consultation on rare blood group antibodies, grouping, component preparation and therapy, blood compatibility testing and research.
