Virtual Run in Honor of World Blood Donor Day Begins Today

The AABB Foundation is pleased to announce it will be hosting a virtual 5K or 1-mile race to celebrate World Blood Donor Day. 

Each year, World Blood Donor Day is celebrated to thank all those who make life-saving gifts of blood and raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products.

The AABB Foundation invites members of the blood and biotherapies community to run, walk, roll or pedal 5K or 1-mile anytime between May 14 and World Blood Donor Day on June 14.

Registration for the event is now open and all proceeds will benefit the AABB Foundation’s efforts to fund scientific research that helps to advance treatments and care for patients and donors in communities worldwide. Registration is available for both individuals and teams.

The AABB Foundation is also encouraging participants to share photos of their involvement in the virtual race on AABB’s Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and Instagram. Photos can also be emailed directly to the AABB Foundation.
